The Agua Caliente staff hosted the desert’s very first National Travel Tourism Day along with local, state and national tourism officials. However, the major force of the rally was evident by the presence of the Desert Cities’ travel and tourism business’s finest ambassadors. These ambassadors are “the people who matter.” The people who matter work in the tour and travel businesses that support the desert communities.

Business, such as hotels and resorts (Rancho Las Palmas, Aqua Caliente) spas, limo services (Limo 4 U), entertainers (Bella da Ball at Hotel Zoso), tour guides (Kerry Berman jeep tours), restaurant professionals (Ruby’s Dinner and the Kaiser Restaurant Group) and many, many more were in attendance.

A welcoming touch of complimentary food and drink was at the catered event, as were children’s face painting and whimsical self-portrait character drawings stations, all satisfying supportive efforts to welcome the children who also came in support of the rally for travel and tourism.

The highlight and most anticipated portion of the rally would be the “Staycation” Give–A–Way packages. This was an appropriate theme for this summer and one the Palm Springs Desert Resort Communities Convention and Visitors Authority had graciously donated.

One lucky winner of a Staycation and rally supporter, Charlene Diamond from the Desert Star, won the grand prize give-a-way Hawaiian vacation at the Mauna Lani Terrace Condominiums. Aloha Charlene!

Support and camaraderie of all involved were evident through out the rally.
